Donald L. Miller
Donald L. Miller, 93, Polo, died Sunday, July 1, 2012, at Polo Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.
He was a lifelong farmer in Polo, member of Crossroads Community Church, Shriners, Stephenson County Antique Club, North West Steam Thresher Association, early member of the National 2-Cylinder John Deere Club, Polo Rifle Team and a Master Mason Scottish Rite.
Donald was born, May 20,1919 in Erie Township, the son of Clifford and Harriet (Smith) Miller.
He married Arlene Liggett on Dec. 22, 1939. She preceded him in death in 2004.
Survivors include daughters, Donna (Dennis) O’Hara, Oregon, Carol (Ken) Eichholz, Polo; sons, Donald Miller, Polo, Wendell (Lisa) Miller, Polo; grandchildren, Julie and Trisha O’Hara, Daniel, David, Jon (Kim), Marc, Luke, Abbie Miller, Amy (Brent) Phelps, Michael (Mary) Pellerin, Kathy (Ron) Biasi, Joe and Janet Eichholz, Holly (Michael) Bawinkel; many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by son, Charles; daughter, Beverly Pellerin; two brothers, Clifford and David; sister, Marion.
The funeral will be at on Thursday, July 5 at 10 a.m. at Crossroads Community Church, Polo.
Burial will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Erie Cemetery, Erie.
Visitation was scheduled for Tuesday, July 3 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Polo Family Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to Shriners Children’s Hospital (www.shrinershospitalsforchildren.org/).
