Philip Patrick Egan, 72 , Mt. Morris, died Saturday, June 30, 2012 at Rockford Memorial Hospital, Rockford.

He was born July 25, 1939 in Mt. Morris, the son of George and Eva (Foley) Egan. 

Phil graduated from Mt. Morris High School in the Class of 1957.

He married Kay Hovis on Oct.17, 1959 in Oregon. 

He was employed at Kable Printing Company for 44 years, retiring in 2001. He was a member of the GCIU.

Phil loved spending time with his family and along the river.

He is survived by his wife,  Kay Egan, Mt. Morris; son, Mike Egan, Mt. Morris; daughter, Lynda (Ron) Alden, Rockford; granddaughters, Erin Alden, Rockford, and Ashley (Jeremy) Khemmanivong, Rockford; sisters, Margie Johnson, Oregon, Dolores Goley, Byron, Patsy (Ed Tuttle) Franz, Lodi, Wis.; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Bill “Rusty” Egan; and sisters, Maryalice Fletcher and Ellen Toms.

Funeral Services were scheduled for Tuesday July 3 at 11 a.m. at  Finch Funeral Home, 405 E.Hitt St., Mt. Morris, with Father Thomas Lamb officiating. 

Burial was planned at Plainview Cemetery, Mt. Morris.

Visitation was set for Tuesday July 3 from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Ogle County Hospice.
