Marilyn Stukenberg

Marilyn Stukenberg, 76, Forreston, died Thursday, July 19, 2012 at Kindred Medical Center, Sycamore.

Marilyn was born on May 5, 1936 in Hinsdale, the daughter of George and Ruth (Linde) Engel. 

Marilyn married Eugene A. Stukenberg on June 2, 1956 at Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, Forreston.

Marilyn was a member of Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church. 

She enjoyed knitting, playing Bingo, watching the Chicago Cubs, going ballroom dancing, and listening to the Statler Brothers. 

Marilyn’s family and especially her grandchildren meant the world to her.

Survivors include her husband, Eugene Stukenberg, Forreston; three sons, Brian Stukenberg, Forreston, Barry (Shanna) Stukenberg, Boaz, Ala., and Brent (LuAnn) Stukenberg, Sterling; one daughter; Jori (Dan) Holland, Freeport, one sister, Marjorie (John) Engel, Polo; two brothers-in-law, Richard (Audrey) Stukenberg and Gerald (Sandra) Stukenberg, both of Forreston; sister-in-law, Carol (Michael) Gagliardi, Forreston; 12 grandchildren, Rob, Christopher, Daniel, Matthew, Amy, Tiffany, Stephaine, Dylan, Nicole, Samantha, Wayne and Jessica; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and one sister.

Memorial services were held July 24 at Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church with Rev. Scott Ralston officiating. 

Burial will take place at a later date. 

Arrangements were completed by Burke Tubbs Funeral Home, Forreston. 

In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.
