Viola G. Adams

Viola G. Adams, 82, a lifelong Oregon resident, died Monday, July 30, 2012 at Serenity Hospice Home, Oregon.

She was born Feb. 1, 1930 in Oregon, the daughter of James and Mildred (Mumford) Greene.

She married John Adams Sept. 16, 1950; he died July 19, 2011.

A graduate of Oregon High School, she was employed by Kable News, Mt. Morris, for 29 years and then in the Ogle County Circuit Clerk’s office 17 years, retiring in 1995.

Viola was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Oregon, Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Oregon VFW Auxiliary, Mt. Morris Moose Lodge 1551, Rock River Center, and Mt. Morris and Byron Senior Centers.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews, including her special niece, Iris Cox, Dixon.

She was also predeceased by her parents and two brothers.

Funeral mass will be held Thursday, Aug. 9 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Oregon, with Rev. Richard Kramer, former pastor, as celebrant.

No visitation will be held.

Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery.

Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, Oregon, assisted with arrangements.

Memorials maye be made to Rock River Center or Serenity Hospice Home.
