Janet B. Putnam

Janet B. Putnam, 88, lifelong Oregon resident, died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012 at Pinecrest Manor, Mt. Morris.

She was born July 18, 1924, to George and Lucille (Bellows) Bollinger in their home on South Third  Street, Oregon.

She was a graduate of Oregon High School and married John G. Putnam on June 30, 1945 in Oregon.

She worked at Warmolts Clinic, Oregon, prior to her marriage.
 
After her children were grown, she was a cook for the Oregon School District for 10 years.

In addition to being a devoted wife, loving mother, and skillful homemaker, Janet had been an active member of the Ogle County Historical Society, the First Presbyterian Church, the Oregon Golf Club, and PEO.

She is survived by daughters, Anne (Neal) Smith and Susan Putnam; sons, John (Deborah) Putnam and David Putnam; grandchildren, Nathan Putnam (Kyle Cervantes) and Elizabeth (David) Paulsen; great-grandchildren, Sam, Henry, and one due in February; sister, Sabra Stouffer Fox; and sister-in-law, Martha Betty Diven.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack, and sister, Vera B. Gradert.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, Dec. 8 at 2 p.m., with visitation from 1 p.m. until service time, at the First Presbyterian Church, Oregon.

Interment will be in Daysville Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Serenity Hospice and Home, Oregon, or the Ogle County Historical Society, Oregon.
