Richard W. Hoover

Richard William Hoover, 89, Atlanta, Ga., died Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012.

He is survived by his wife, Theresa, and daughter, Gwen. All are former long-time resident of Oregon.

Before marrying and moving to Oregon, Richard was a Navy flight instructor in World War II.

After his service, he moved to Oregon, where he built the family home on Timber Lane, and began a 35-year career with the Quaker Oats Company.

Here, he managed the Oregon Quaker Oats plant.

His community involvement included being a Rotarian, serving a year as its president.

During his career, Richard also worked at the corporate office of Quaker Oats in Chicago.

When he finally retired, he and Theresa moved to Texarkana, Texas.

In 1990, they moved again to live with their daughter, Gwen, who was the director of personnel for CDC.

Richard, Theresa, Gwen, and many kitties enjoyed life together for 22 years until Richard’s passing. He is terribly missed.
