Ronald H. Pope

Ronald H. Pope, 67, Polo, died Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013 at Serenity Hospice Home, Oregon.

He was born Sept. 6, 1945 in Freeport, the son of Kenneth and Alice (Zier) Pope.

Pope was employed by General Electric in Milwaukee, Wis., and retired after 35 years with the company.

He served with the United States Army in Germany and Viet Nam from 1966-1968.

He enjoyed working on his antique tractors.

He is survived by his brother, Robert (Sue) Pope, Polo; and his sister, Reena (Charles) Newburn, Springfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Kenneth R. Pope.

Graveside services will be held at Lanark Cemetery at a later date.

Arrangements are being completed by Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home, Freeport.
