Brad Currens of Stillman Bank presents Chance Munroe with a gift certificate for being named Oregon High School's January Senior of Distinction.

Chance Munroe is Oregon High School’s January Senior of Distinction, nominated by teacher Lynn Kaufman.

“Chance is one of the most volunteer and goal-oriented students I have met at OHS," Kaufman said. "He participates in church-sponsored groups as well track and golf.

"Chance has over 300 hours of community service and is currently vice president of the senior class and in planning the prom for this spring.

"He was nominated for the Nation Young Leaders Conference and takes a rigorous schedule including AP classes. He currently acts as a public relations intern for OHS.

"His personality and respectful nature also makes him a pleasure to have in class.

"Chance shines outside of OHS by serving those in need and has traveled on five mission trips to West Virginia, South Dakota, Kentucky, Minnesota, as well as our Illinois region. He serves as Church Staff Representative, Church Council Youth Representative, and Director of Summer Vacation Bible School.

"You can see that his involvement follows our mission statement of ‘productive, responsible citizens.’

"His goals include a political venue with goals to be a state and congressional leader or President of the United States. Chance has met and worked for many congressional leaders in his quest for political success.”
