Norma J. Beck

Norma J. Beck, 80, Mt. Morris, and formerly of Oregon and Lombard, died peacefully on Saturday, June 1, 2013 at Rosewood Care Center in St. Charles.

She was born Dec. 17, 1932 in Chicago, the daughter of Charles and Ruth (Anderson) Pugh.

She married Jerome Beck on April 30, 1966 in Bellwood.

She graduated from Proviso East High School in 1950.

Norma worked at Commonwealth Edison for many years as a switchboard operator and in the service department before getting married and raising a family.

She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Oregon.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Jerome “Jerry” Beck, Mt. Morris; her loving children, Timothy (Kim) Beck, Wheaton, and Pamela (Art) Miehle, Villa Park; her grandchildren, Abigail, Hannah and Timothy Beck, and Anna Miehle; her siblings, Genevieve (Don) Halffield, St. Charles, and George (Phyllis) Pugh, Leesburg, Fla.; and many nieces; nephews; and dear friends.

In addition to her parents, Norma was preceded in death by her sister, Charlotte Snyder; and brother-in-law, Lawrence Snyder.

Memorial services will be held Friday, June 7 at 2 p.m. at Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, Oregon, with Father Joseph Naill, pastor of St. Mary Catholic Church, Oregon, officiating.

Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery, Oregon, following the service. Visitation will be Thursday, June 6 from 5 to 8 p.m. with an 8 p.m. Vigil Prayer Service.
