Dennis E. Canfield

Dennis E. Canfield, 59, lifelong Chana resident, died Saturday, June 29, 2013 at Serenity Hospice Home, Oregon.

He was born Aug. 13, 1953 in Rochelle, the son of Russell and Irma Jean (Langholf) Canfield.

Dennis was a 1971 graduate of Oregon High School and a graduate of Kishwaukee Community College.

He was employed as a mechanic for Stocking Implement and then at the Byron Nuclear Station.

Dennis was a member of Chana United Methodist Church and loved fishing, hunting and working on old tractors.

He is survived by his brother, Dwight (Ruth) Canfield, Chana; sister, Nancy (Michael) McPherson; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents.

Funeral services were scheduled for Wednesday, July 3 at 11 a.m. at Chana United Methodist Church with Pastor Javier Martinez officiating, preceded by a visitation beginning at 10 a.m. at the church.

Burial will be at Chapel Hill Cemetery, Chana.

Memorials may be directed to Serenity Hospice and Home or Chana United Methodist Church.
