James Matthew Corcoran, 52, Oregon, died Monday, Nov. 25, 2013 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center, Rockford.
He was born Jan. 18, 1961 in Rockford, the son of Thomas and Elizabeth (Kereven) Corcoran.
He married Jillene Page on June 2, 1984 in Oregon.
Jim worked in Rockford at Amcore Bank for 20 years and then at Alpine Bank for the past five years.
He was a member of the Oregon Church of God.
Jim loved sports and he was a member of the Oregon High School 1979 sectional basketball championship team and went on to play basketball for four years at Beloit College.
He was involved in all sporting activities of his three daughters, both as a coach and a spectator.
Jim enjoyed being a member of the “chain gang” at OHS football games, closely followed college basketball and had a collection of college team sweatshirts.
He liked all Chicago sports teams, especially the Cubs, who he predicted would win the World Series in 2016.
Jim also enjoyed spending time with family and friends, for conversation and refreshments, at Voris’ garage.
Survivors include his wife, Jill; daughters, Brittany (Adam) Groenhagen, Sarah Corcoran, and Anna Corcoran, all of Oregon; mother, Elizabeth Corcoran, Oregon; sisters, Jean (John) Deuth, Polo, and Jan (Richard) Alcumbrack, Michigan; brother, Tom (Peggy) Corcoran, Oregon; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, Nov. 30 at 11 a.m. at the Oregon Church of God, 860 W. Oregon Trail Rd, Oregon, with Pastor Michael Hoffman officiating.
Visitation will be held at the church on Friday, Nov. 29 from 4 to 8 p.m. Private burial will be in Daysville Cemetery.
A memorial fund has been established in his name. Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, Oregon is assisting the family with arrangements.
